Keeping and counting the records of member’s names, addresses, phone, and email addresses if any , also may like to be creative to think of ways to bring new members in to the organization.

Scholarships

Selden Civic offers 2-scholarships one at each of our two high schools, Newfield/Centereach High Schools. There will be criteria’s one of which that a student must reside in the town of Selden, next there will be a written essay, and then a committee will be formed to read and pick the two students.

Nominations/Elections

There will be a committee formed in accordance with our organizational bylaws/procedures this committee will make recommendation to the membership of who will be the best candidates for our elected board.

Abandoned Properties/Vacant Land

Compile and track abandoned and vacant properties, this will help with the process of keeping our community clean and revitalized.

Revitalization of our Down Town Commercial Areas

This committee may even want to contact or work with our Chamber of Commerce and see if we can work together to accomplish our visions for our Civic and town.

Pledgers-Girl Scouts/Boy Scouts

This committee will be in charge of getting a girl scout or boy scout troop to start our monthly meeting with the pledge.
